How can I tryout for a team?

Teams are formed in the Spring and Fall. Regular tryout times will be posted. If you missed a tryout or find yourself looking for a team, call BLBA. There may be an opening on a team that fits your playing level.
How much does it cost to be on a BLBA Team?
Some teams do have sponsors. There are also fundraising opportunities. There are three expenses that team members pay:
1. Coaching and Facility fee - $100 month
2. Tournament fees - this depends on how many tournaments your team plays and how many team members are on your team. Generally individual tournaments cost $40 to $50 each.
3. Uniform and Equipment fees - Players are responsible for their own uniform and equipment expenses. Uniforms are standard Sox uniforms. Cost depends upon how many pieces or combinations the team decides they would like to wear.
IF YOU ARE A HOUSTON SOX TEAM MEMBER PAYING A MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP FEE, YOU DO NOT PAY EXTRA USAGE FEES. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO GET SOME EXTRA PRACTICE IN, COME ON IN. IF THERE IS A CAGE OR PITCHING MOUND AVAILABLE YOU CAN USE IT FOR FREE. FYI: COME EARLY, THE CAGES FILL UP FOR TEAM PRACTICE QUICKLY.
If you are not paying a monthly team member fee, regular hourly rates are charged.
NOTE: So as not to jeopardize a team members opportunity to play college ball, it is important that players DO NOT accept FULL playing sponorships. For more information on this please visit the NCAA website or speak with a BLBA coach.
Does my team have to be a Houston Sox Team to use the BLBA facility?
No, your team does not need to be a Houston Sox team to use the BLB A facility. To see what times are available please call BLBA at (281) 357-4330.
